Warmth for Winter 2014

We will be making scarves for Wilson Elementary on Sunday, November 30, during Fellowship Time. This process primarily involves cutting and there is no actual sewing to be done. It is something everyone can help with. We will need people to make the long cuts, cut the fringe, roll and pack the scarves and keep count.
We have all of the cutting supplies except extra pairs of scissors. We can use extra scissors to cut fringe, if you can bring yours.
We do need people to purchase fabric. It is called “fleece” and it usually comes in a 60 inch width which is perfect for a scarf. It is for sale by the yard and can cost anywhere from $3 to $7 per yard depending on where you purchase it and the design you buy. Wild colors and designs are a favorite of the students. An easy place to go and have lots of choices is Hancocks Fabrics. Their fleece is usually on sale from $5 to $7 per yard. Jo-Ann Fabric and Craft Stores is also a good place and generally has good sales or coupons available on their app.
Hope to see as many helping make scarves as possible.
