Coffee House Night

The next Coffee House Night will be Saturday, April 30, 6-8pm, in the Community Hall. Catherine Fuller and other guests will play folk, gospel, and rock. We invite you to join us for the time of fellowship and fun.

 

Pride Planning Meeting

We will be having a Pride Planning Meeting at the church on Sunday, May 1, at 3:30pm. We invite everyone to join us as we plan our participation in OKC Pride this Summer.

 

TransSpouse Discussion Group

A new discussion group for spouses, partners and other loved ones of transgender folks or those considering transitioning. This is a safe place to come together and discuss your own experiences. The 1st and 3rd Sundays of each month at 4:30pm, downstairs in the Youth Room.

 

Out & About

The Out and About Ministry brings together people for fellowship and activities beyond the church walls.

The next event will be “Cinco de Mayo” at Chelino’s, 59th & N May Ave, on Thursday, May 5, at 5:30pm.

Mother’s Day Potluck & Auction

The Mother’s Day Potluck Dinner & Auction will be held on Sunday, May 8, following the 6pm service. The auction will benefit sending our youth to the UCC National Youth Event. Please see John before and after services for the dish sign-up.

 

Game Night

The next Game Night will be held at the church in the Community Hall on Saturday, May 14, 6-8pm. Please contact Al Ballard for more information.

 

Child Care Now Available

Child care is available every Sunday, 4:15pm to 7:15pm, for ages 6 and under.

 

Photos Wanted

We would love to have ongoing current photos of the life of our church. If you take photos during our church events, please send them to Pastor Kayla via e-mail or on Facebook. If photography is your gift, please consider using it to document our community life together.

 

Church Relations Committee

The Church Relations Committee is now actively meeting. This committee is tasked with ensuring that there is open communication between our two churches so that we live together happily. If you have any questions, concerns, or suggestions, you can go to cohokc.com/unity to send your feedback.

 

Get Involved!

Acolytes: If you would like to help out on Sundays lighting the candles, carrying the cross, reading prayers, serving communion and/or being an usher, please contact Erik Kendall.

Communion: We are seeking assistance with the set up/clean up of communion before and after the service. If you are interested in helping with this very important ministry, please contact Erik Kendall.

Choir: The choir meets Sundays at 4:30pm for rehearsal. Join us and experience the fellowship, service and spiritual growth of singing in the choir. Please contact Bill Wade for more information.

 

Winds House Collection

The Winds House collection takes place each Sunday of the month.

April’s collection – Laundry Supplies (detergent, fabric softener, dryer sheets, etc)

You can send a one-time offering or setup a recurring offering. Only checking accounts are available for use with this service. There is no transaction fee to use this service.

PayPal

You can send a one-time offering or setup a recurring offering. Checking accounts, debit cards and credit cards are available for use with this service. This service costs Cathedral of Hope $0.30+ 2.9% of the amount you donate. You do not have to have a PayPal account to donate via PayPal, but only debit cards and credits cards are available for those without a PayPal account.

You may also use your debit card or credit card before or after any service with an usher. This service costs Cathedral of Hope 2.7% of the amount you donate.

 

Food Pantry Help Needed

You can assist the Food Pantry at Church of the Open Arms each week with these opportunities:

  • Thursdays at 12:30pm – Assistance unloading the truck, will require some heavy lifting.
  • Friday 2-4pm – Stock shelves, may include some light lifting.
  • Friday 4-6pm – Assistance walking with clients, may include some light lifting.

If you are interested in helping, contact the Open Arms church office at 405-525-9555.

 

Community Center Assistance Needed

Expressions Community Center is in need of volunteers for the front desk receptionist. The position will include the following duties:

  • Greet clients.
  • Answer and transfer calls.
  • Provide clients with information for their visit.
  • Keeping front area inviting for our clients.
