A Message from the Pastor

Dear Friends,

It is with great sadness that I must inform you of my resignation as Pastor of Cathedral of Hope Oklahoma City. I have received a full-time call to Puritan Congregational Christian Church (UCC) in Drummond, OK, and will begin my full time duties there on August 1.

Please know that this came as a complete surprise to me. I was approached just over a month ago by Drummond’s Trustees. It was something I never expected, and I debated this long and hard before accepting this call. It is so rare to have two churches that are so fantastic, that giving up either one is exceedingly difficult.

It has been a wonderful 4 years here at COH. We have many fond memories of our time here. You have been a great support to me over the years, and I am grateful for that. I will always remember the worship, visits, meetings and fellowship as something that was always enjoyable.

As to timing, it is my intention to stay until I begin at Drummond full time, which will fulfill my notice, as per my Terms of Call. I will also be taking my remaining vacation in order to make all the necessary arrangements. I would like to also schedule a time to say goodbye to everyone. Although 4 years is not a very long time, this will be exceeding difficult for my family, as we have become very close to so many of you.

I will be meeting with the officers over the next few weeks to be sure the departure goes as smoothly as possible.

Yours in Christ,

Rev. Matthew H. Perkins
