Introducing Our Seminarian Intern

While training to become a pastor, most seminaries require a field education placement. Our churches are blessed to welcome Michael Bentley who will be our seminarian intern for October 2017-May 2018. Here is a short bio about Michael below.

Michael Bentley was born and raised in Mangum, OK. He earned a BA in Religious Studies from the University of Oklahoma (2015), and is currently a third-year in the Master of Divinity program at the University of Chicago Divinity School. His scholarly interests include Hebrew Bible, the History of Science, issues in the relationship between Science and Religion, etc. Before moving to Chicago, Michael attended the UCC congregation in Norman. Michael lives with his wife, Maya, their son Hugh, and their two cats. Michael still harbors a love for golf, though he rarely gets a chance to play, and in his spare time he can usually be found playing guitar.
