You Have a Place

Whether you are a visitor, a member of this church, a member of another church, or even if you are not a member of any church -- you are welcome here and there is a place for you.

Perhaps that place is a spiritual place like worship - come join us at 6:00 PM on Sunday.

Perhaps you would like to meet in small group for discussions and feel part of a closer community - then join one of our circles. (see tab above)

Perhaps you are inspired by learning and want to study spiritual topics in depth - then join our spiritual formation classes. (see tab above)

Perhaps you want to be involved in helping others - then join in serving our community.

Just know this - you are welcome. Not because we are such fine people. No, you will find us just as human, fallible, and just as "queer as folk" you might find anywhere. The difference, is we strive to be part of God's dream. A dream where everyone is welcome. A dream where there is inclusion, liberation and hope. A dream that you can be part of too.

The Historical Jesus

Have you been fascinated by the DaVinci Code or the Passion of Christ? Are you interested in what the scholars have to say about the life of Jesus?

Our Formations class started a discussion in May and led by Joe Arganbrighton onwhat we know about Jesus from the latest historical research. The class is looking at many view without asking anyone to make a decision but to be faithful disciples no matter where their beliefs may be taking them.

Issues that are being addresses along the way are:

  • how has orthodoxy helped you and how may it have caused pain?
  • how does Scripture speak to the contemporary generation?
  • how do we relate to elements of ancient culture that have changed over time?

Formation class meets in the LibraryJefferson Room at 4:30pm on Sundays
