The vision of this church is a tremendous one: “We are a people who serve in the manner of Jesus – with compassion, inclusion, liberation, and hope.”
Our mission is “to empower all people to experience the presence of God, to grow toward wholeness, and to act in love.”
To fulfill this mission requires all of us working together. For that reason we believe that every member is a minister. Everyone has a role to play in building the reign of God in this world.
Everyone is welcome here. We are clear that Cathedral of Hope is a Christian church, but we are determined that no one feel excluded. Regardless of where folk are on their faith journey, they are welcome here. We are all seeking the truth together.
As the ministers, we all have responsibilities. We are not simply consumers. We are givers, not just takers. We are called to live faithfully in a way that will change our lives and the life of the world. So, we are a people who commit to one another our presence, prayer, generosity, service, and continued spiritual growth.
I hope you will let us know if there is any way that we can minister to you by answering any questions you might have about us.
Peace,
Pastor Scott Jones

Our Story
A person’s identity is formed in the on-going story of a community. We as Christians are part of the larger on-going story of God’s relationship with creation.
To know us, one must know our story.
Here are a few of the significant moments in the life of Cathedral of Hope – Oklahoma City.
The Beginnings
There were folk in Oklahoma City who wanted a church. For years they attended the Cathedral of Hope in Dallas, Texas when they were in Dallas. CoH-Dallas met this need and formed a parish in Oklahoma City. It all began with a small group bible study and a few big services at Christmas and Easter. With joy we gathered for our first service and the early years were filled with exciting ventures.
We were reclaiming a Christianity of extravagant grace, radical inclusion, and relentless compassion.

Serving the Community Quickly we became a congregation that reached out to our community through a variety of service projects. These ministries carried us through years of transition as we left one denomination and went through pastoral changes. We refined our vision and mission: “to empower all people to experience the presence of God, to grow toward wholeness, and to act in love.”
